Containing Hair: It’s A Science
Believe it or not there is a science behind how to protect food from hair contamination. After a 16 month research project with the University of Bolton we discovered the amount of hair shed by individuals in a work period and the optimum way to contain any type of hair. The results enabled us at Aburnet to develop a unique, patented fabric that contains hair better than any other product on the market. Our KleenCap product has been proven by industry to reduce hair complaints by 80%.
The reason it is key to take the effort to ensure you purchase the correct hair net is that even without taking into account figiting and typical hair care routines, we lose up to 43 hairs in an 8 hour period. So to correctly contain these hairs as many contact points with the hair as possible is needed. This is achieved when our specially designed fabric folds and holds the hair along the scalp. Our fabric is designed to adjust to any hair type and volume. Not only does this technology ensure hair is held it also locks in any loose hair that may be on the head. From University wearer trials our HairTite and HairBarrier technologies demonstrated an 11 fold improvement in hair containment when compared to a mob cap worn alone.
According to Professor Subhash Anand, MBE, Professor of Technical Textiles, Institute for Materials Research and Innovation, University of Bolton, England, “nonwoven materials such as those used in mob and bouffant caps should not be used as a hair barrier fabric… with inherent gaps and different densities, hairs protrude through. It is a totally unsuitable material.” This shows that such a simple swap could prevent a contamination issue that could impact your business reputation. Furthermore Mob caps are often replaced multiple times during the day so our products can be implemented for little or no extra cost!
Certified by HACCP International our products are and used by major brands across the world and with a whole host of resources to train staff they are so simple to implement. Check out our image below to give you an idea of how our technology works, or get in touch for more info.
