Reduce Your Carbon Footprint With Effective Hair Containment
Posted by Monday 07 October 2019
It is key to wear an effective hair containment solution as a typical head of hair has 100,000 to 145,000 scalp hairs, 10% of which are waiting to be shed at any one time. But as well as containing hair there is a growing concern about the amount of wastage they cause.
Our HACCP International certified hair nets are designed to last an entire work shift without breakage or becoming uncomfortable. Whereas commonly used mob caps which become hot and sweaty often break and need to be replaced at least 3 times in a work shift. This is one quick change that could reduce your environmental impact
To really reduce your carbon footprint we have developed our unique KleenCap products which feature our technical HairBarrier fabric that offers 11X better hair containment when worn with a HairTite HiCare. This unique product can be washed and re-used up to 15 times when washed with HairGon a hair dissolving formula. This could dramatically reduce your wastage from disposable mob caps and their packaging. All of our HairBarrier products can be washed and re-used, plus they all feature our StayCool technology which wicks moisture away from the scalp to keep the wearer cool and comfortable and reduce their tendency to fidget. This is key as fidgeting can lead to Staphylococcus Aureus cross vector contamination by hand whether gloved or not as this bacteria is often found in hot sweaty areas including the scalp.
The following figures really show the impact you could have by switching to our Hair Barrier products. Compared to mob caps if 500,000 food industry workers re-used KleenCap:
- 90% of land fill mass could be reduced
- Save 2,900 tons of CO2 per year
- Be able to reduce hair complaints & save the planet for the same cost
Don’t just take our word for it Katherine Spencer of Chedder Gorge Cheese says “We love the KleenCaps – they’re more effective at containing head hair than all the other disposables hairnets we’ve tried, and we like the fact that they can be reused in this ever more disposable world!”
