StayCool Technology
Aburnet’s HACCP International certified HairBarrier products such as; KleenCap, Beard, Arm and NeckShields 
have been independently tested by the University of Bolton, to improve hair containment. These products include StayCool and Anti-Microbial technologies as standard.
Our StayCool technology, like performance sportswear transports moisture, such as sweat, through the fabric away from the wearer allowing it to evaporate into the atmosphere. This helps regulate the wearers body temperature, keeping them cool and comfortable whatever the work temperature or level of physical activity.
The increased comfort reduces the users tendency to fidget or scratch the head. This in turn reduces the risk of the food handler being a cross vector of pathogens found on the scalp, such as Staphylococcus Aureus, this can happen even if the individual is gloved. Fidgeting can also disturb the hairline and push hair through the fabric, which again increases the risk of contamination.
Anti-Microbial properties
An Anti-Microbial coating which includes Silver Ions, that are known to inhibit the growth of bacteria and Fungi is applied to all HairBarrier products after manufacture. This technology has been independently tested to prohibit the multiplication of both Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria such as E-Coli and multiple resistant Staphylococcus Aureus(MRSA).
The technology works even after 15 washes with HairGon, the advanced formula wash additive that dissolves residual hairs. This means HairBarrier products are both safer and cheaper to use.
Beware, as products on the market that have not been independently tested may contain some material that includes an Anti-Microbial additive. However, if this is not applied to the whole product after manufacture and independently tested it simply may not work.
